Playing around with twitter on the iPhone, an idea for a short story came to mind. Initially the idea was to write a story of exactly 140 characters (the maximum for a twitter message). Eventually it became a story- sequence of three consecutive tweets (each containing exactly 140 characters). So, you could say it is in fact a trilogy in shorthand.

By now he was desparate enough to make that appointment with the devil. Then he realized, he already had lost his soul at a trade-fair.

With nothing to bargain and nothing left to gain, he’s going for the final leap. He should definitely get a life now. No other options left.

No choices to make, no wondering about what’s next. A straight walk down Easy Street. Finally he feels totally free not to do as he pleases.

After sending the tweets into the world, in the following order in which they are conceived, I reread the result. Now, tweets are listed in chronological order, so the latest one becomes first in the list. Reverse reading was a bit of a surprise: a complete other story, with a rather different feel (or touch) to it.
